Ok so I got a deal on a set of 17x8 GT rims from an early S197 to dress up my ‘14 base V6. I think they completely transform the car... the old ones just scream RENTAL to me. My wife swears she can’t see a difference, wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t told her. Go figure.

... I think the old ones look much better. Cragar SS/Torque Thrust style wheels are way overdone.

If she can’t tell the difference then you need a lawyer. “I swear I couldn’t tell the difference between you and that guy I cheated on you with. You look the same”.

It’s funny, I actually didn’t mind the design of the original ones too much, other than that I knew they were V6-only wheels and they kinda labeled the car as such... but I prefer the old school look. Probably has to do with having been in high school in the ‘80s, when we all put Cragar S/Ss and Torq-Thrusts on our junker Novas and Skylarks. The nostalgia factor is huge for me.

I was getting ready to say that I thought the “before” rims looked way better until I realized that I was looking at the “after” rims. I just assumed that the “before” picture would be on the top and the “after” would be on the bottom. Silly me. Nice upgrade.

I despise those V6 wheels. The Bullitts are a nice change.
